Urangan State High School is located in the center of Hervey Bay just 1,5 km from the beach. Hervey Bay has a subtropical climate with summer temperatures (January) averaging 29 degrees Celsius and a winter average (July) of 21 degrees Celsius. Hervey Bay is also one of the the starting points to visit Fraser Island, the largest sand island in the world and a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site.

Urangan State High School has an excellent reputation for consistently delivering top academic, cultural, technological and athletic achievement. Exciting subjects such as Film, Television & New Media and Marine Science are highly attractive to both local and international students, and the school guarantees enrolment in Marine Science classes for older students.

The “Outdoor Recreation” course is also exciting for the international guest students with activities such as canoeing, climbing, abseiling, camping, navigation, bushwalking and bush cooking.
