Urangan State High School is located in the center of Hervey Bay just 1,5 km from the beach. Hervey Bay has a subtropical climate with summer temperatures (January) averaging 29 degrees Celsius and a winter average (July) of 21 degrees Celsius. Hervey Bay is also one of the the starting points to visit Fraser Island, the largest sand island in the world and a UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site.
