Highschool Australia is a small agency with a personal touch, courtesy of its dedicated directors Anne Stewart and Heike Andryk. We are located in Brisbane, Queensland and know all our high schools and their staff well. This lets HSA provide visiting students with the assistance and advice they need – before and after arriving in Australia.
Director Anne Stewart explains how Highschool Australia became what it is today:
“I came to live in Australia more than 20 years ago. My own three children went to school here, so I am very familiar with the local school system. Having graduated from another country and being a non-native Australian, I fully understand the needs of our International students.
Having lived in various countries before coming to Australia, overseas friends kept asking whether I could help them find a school placement here for their children. I live with my family here in Brisbane, so initially I only focussed on this area. We quickly earned a solid reputation for getting the right results, and received more and more enquiries.
Nowadays, increasing numbers of students wish to take the opportunity to attend school in Australia, improve their English language skills, learn about another culture and another school system. Also, foreign schools are now more inclined to grant their students leave for an overseas school placement.
So what began as a committed local service for friends grew into a professional and officially accredited agency. Some years ago, Heike Andryk joined HSA to help support this growth and since then HSA has accepted a growing number of state and private schools into our high school program from around Australia and New Zealand.
HSA now arranges state and private high school placements right across Australia, with the same personalised service it has always provided since its beginnings in Brisbane.”
