Fraser Coast Anglican College is located in Hervey Bay on a large area that the 750 students share with kangaroos and other wildlife. It is only a few kilometres to the beach and the largest sand island in the world, Fraser Island. Fraser Coast Anglican College is a delightful school with a strong focus on community and relationships. All new students are assigned a “buddy” from a different year, so that they quickly integrate into the school community.
Fraser Coast Anglican College’s comprehensive curriculum offers a range of subjects that are specifically tailored to the interests and talents of international students. You can try out courses that are hard to find at home such as drama, hospitality, design technologies and marine science.
Marine Sciences (Aquatic Practices) is particularly popular because it offers the opportunity to experience and understand the unique natural environment of the Fraser Coast while gaining practical skills. Students can not only snorkel, but also obtain a SCUBA diving licence as part of a diving course. It is also possible to obtain a driving licence for motor boats. As part of the course, excursions are made to the Great Sandy Region as well as to Stradbroke Island and North West Island.
International students also have the opportunity to participate in the annual Outdoor Education Camp. These camps offer a great balance between adventure, challenge and fun. The Outdoor Education Program as a whole fosters relationships with classmates and teachers. Often the experiences of outdoor education and the excursions are the highlights of a stay at Fraser Coast Anglican College.
