Woodville High School

Woodville High School is located in St. Clair, a suburb in the northwest of Adelaide. The surrounding area is characterized by parks, renaturalized waterways, and residential areas. Shopping facilities, cafés, and a medical center can be found in the nearby St. Clair Village Shopping Center. The school’s own train station ensures good connections to Adelaide city center. The school has a multicultural character, with students from over 80 cultures.

Woodville High School is one of only four Special Interest Music Centers in South Australia. The focus is on jazz and contemporary music theory with courses in performance, composition, and sound engineering. Students regularly achieve success in the Generations in Jazz competition. As a Special Interest Music Center, Woodville High School has specially trained teachers and extensive equipment.

The Basketball Academy combines athletic training with academic education. In addition to three and a half hours of practical training per week, the program also teaches theoretical content such as game understanding, individual technique analysis, fitness and training planning, nutrition, and the basics of coaching and refereeing licenses.

The Football Academy offers intensive athletic training with a focus on technique, tactics, and game understanding. The lessons are supplemented by competitions, events, and other sports activities outside of school.

A special highlight is the exclusive partnership with the Adelaide United Football Club. Students benefit from professional coaching, mentoring, and insights into competitive soccer, including visits to training facilities, observation of training sessions, and contact with players from the men’s and women’s teams.

An outdoor education course is part of the regular curriculum at Woodville High School. The program includes kayaking, surfing, and other water sports activities. A three-day water sports camp with two overnight stays and surfing and kayaking excursions is an integral part of the program.
