The Forest High School

The Forest High School is located in Northern Metropolitan Sydney’s Northern Beaches area.

It is well connected by public transport to the Sydney central business district, the North Shore, Chatswood and Manly. It is also well connected to local beaches and ocean pools including Dee Why, Long Reef and Collaroy which are used for surfing, lifesaving, and survival swimming courses.

Nearby facilities include the Warringah Aquatic Centre and Manly Swim Centre, a wide range of sporting grounds as well as gyms, tennis courts, squash, futsal and beach volleyball facilities at Manly Beach. The Narrabeen Lakes are ideal for kayaking.

The Forest High School offers a wide range of curricula and has an excellent reputation for academic success, not least in the Higher School Certificate exams.

The high school is known beyond its catchment area for the quality of its students’ achievements in sports, music and the performing arts. The band programme in particular has enjoyed an excellent reputation for many years, and students enjoy annual band tours and numerous public performances.

To help international students find their way in their new environment, make friends and feel safe and welcome, they are each assigned a buddy.

The Forest High School is expected to move to a brand new campus two kilometres away in 2026, with space for up to 1,500 students. It will then have, among other things, a sports field, multipurpose courts, a gymnasium, a covered outdoor learning area, landscaped recreational areas and walkways between the buildings.
