Southport State High School is one of the oldest schools in Queensland and is located in the heart of the Gold Coast, not far from Griffith University and Bond University. The Chinatown district is close by, as are the Broadwater Parklands with its many recreational opportunities and The Spit Surf Beach, where world-class surfing is the order of the day.

Apart from the standard academic subjects, Southport State High School‘s has a strong focus on technology. The School is also very strong in artistic and creative activities such as music, drama, dance or design.
