Rosny College

Rosny College is a senior secondary college located at beautiful Kangaroo Bay on the eastern bank of the Derwent River opposite Hobart City. The College has a relaxed, progressive feel and the teachers and students are very welcoming and supportive of international students during their stay.

Rosny College offers a wide variety of interesting subjects with some pretty amazing facilities. Students can take Aboriginal Studies and learn about the history and culture of the Aborigines in Tasmania as well as the issues faced by First Nation people around the world.

The College has excellent facilities for the visual and performing arts where students can learn dance choreography, songwriting, theatre and media production and photography. Or you could explore Philosophy, Psychology or Business Studies.

Reflecting on Hobart’s rich, maritime history, Rosny College offers Maritime Studies as a subject where students can develop their practical boat handling skills and even obtain their power boat licence using the College’s own power boats.

Outdoor Education is a popular subject where students can develop skills in activities like surfing and kayaking and also plan and participate in 6 weekend camps. This includes a Skiing and Snowboarding camp to Mt Hotham and a learn-to-surf camp on the east coast. You can even complete your PADI Open Water Diving Certificate during school holidays.
