Nerang State High School is located just 20 minutes from the beach in the Gold Coast hinterland. This central location offers a wide range of recreational activities such as swimming and surfing at one of Australia’s best beaches, mountain biking in the Nerang State Forest, kayaking and fishing at Hinze Dam or bushwalking in the Gold Coast National Parks.

To achieve its academic goals, Nerang State High School relies on a successful blend of technology, innovative teaching, an excellent curriculum, a range of extracurricular opportunities and real-life community projects. There is a diverse range of programmes available such as the Quality Arts Program, pre-vocational classes, and courses taught in cooperation with nearby universities.

A real highlight is the drone driving licence, which can be taken at Nerang State High School in preparation for a career. The Certificate III in Aviation in conjunction with the Remote Pilot Licence allows students to operate drones in Australia for commercial purposes.

For the internationals, there are also a few extras such as trips each semester to Brisbane, Byron Bay, Springbrook National Park and Australia Zoo. International students are also offered special surfing lessons are well as a trip to Lady Elliot Island on the Great Barrier Reef.
