Maroochydore State High School

The Maroochydore State High School is located on a park-like site in the heart of the Sunshine Coast, close to the best swimming and surfing beaches, several shopping centres and the Sunshine Coast Airport. It is a vibrant and dynamic school with highly experienced and qualified teachers who provide individual attention and support to each student. As one of the largest high schools on the Sunshine Coast, it offers a wide range of academic and vocational subjects. This is another reason why Maroochydore State High School has established itself as one of the best schools on the Sunshine Coast in recent years.

Its science, especially biotechnology, is a leader in Queensland. In 2010, it won the Innovation Excellence Award for being the world’s first school to grow plants from cloned cells. There is still a Biotechnology Excellence Program, which also covers marine science activities. By the way, the students of the marine biology courses traditionally camp on Heron Island (Great Barrier Reef) every year.

For the international guest students there are otherwise a whole series of camps and excursions, including to Sydney or Fraser Island.
