Helensvale State High School is located in the suburb of the same name on the northern Gold Coast and is one of the largest high schools in the region. In addition to high academic standards, it offers all the facilities and benefits of a large school, such as a wide range of subjects and links to universities and local employers. Helensvale State High School accepts a maximum of 25 International students through its coveted International Student Programme, which offers not only the best care and support, but also every opportunity to engage in science, art, sports or marine studies.
At Helensvale State High School there are a number of programmes of excellence, referred to here as ‘Academy Programs’. These include the broadly based “EXCITE” program, which focuses on English, mathematics, science and humanities. The Arts Academy Program specializes in ballet, theatre, the arts and music. A Japanese Academy, the Sport Academy and E4E are also offered. The latter is the abbreviation for ‘Education for Entrepreneurs’, a program for students with entrepreneurial spirit, interest in innovative thinking and creativity.
The public Helensvale Aquatic Centre with a 25-metre swimming pool is located right next to the school.
