Engadine High School

Engadine High School is located in Sydney’s southern districts right next to an extensive green belt. A public swimming pool and a large shopping centre with cinemas and restaurants are located nearby. The area is 33 kilometers from Sydney’s city center. There are very good public transport connections to the city centre and the popular Cronulla Beach.

Engadine High School is a popular school for students living far beyond the local area thanks to its success in the fields of performing arts, technology and sports. The school’s theatre and musical productions have repeatedly won national competitions and prizes over the years. The Junior and Senior Dance Ensembles represented the school and Sydney at numerous dance festivals.

International students are welcome at Engadine High School and enjoy many advantages. For example, the school uniform is free of charge for Internationals, and in the first week International students are assigned a “buddy” to introduce them and make their first social contacts.

The subject Marine Science is especially attractive for the Internationals in Year 11. Beyond the theory, students can learn to scuba dive, get a boat driving license and go fishing with rods built by the students in class. In summer (terms 1 and 4), surfing lessons are held every Wednesday.
