Devonport High School is situated in the centre of the coastal town of Devonport, in North West Tasmania. Nearby there are a swimming pool, a basketball stadium, surfing, yachting, and rock climbing facilities.
An $11 million renovation of Devonport High School, completed in 2022, has created state-of-the-art facilities with contemporary learning spaces.
Devonport High School focuses on the STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) and multimedia. The number of international students are still quite low. There are not more than around three per year, and they are welcomed with open arms by their Australian classmates and teachers. There are special excursions for international students, including to wildlife parks, local industry and national park visits.
