Cronulla High School

Cronulla High School is located in the the Cronulla area southeast of the centre of Sydney, just a short walk from fantastic beaches.

In addition to an extensive, academically challenging curriculum, Cronulla High School has two main areas of specialisation, IT Multimedia and the Performing Arts.

In the multimedia section for the 11th and 12th years, students can pursue their particular field of interest and create larger projects of their own such as websites, videos, computer games and online magazines. The school has extensive equipment and resources for this purpose, such as SLR and Go Pro cameras, green screens and 3D printers, as well as the necessary software programs.

The Performing Arts Department is quite unique for a high school. Dance, music and theatre are open to all students all the way to graduation, as is participation in drama ensembles, choir and the school orchestra. In particular, Cronulla High School offers a wide range of dance ensembles for different age groups, styles and abilities, with year-round options such as the school musical, local and regional festivals and inter-state and overseas tours.

Specifically, there is a Dance Company Elite for modern dance, a show group for jazz dance and musical theatre, and a general dance ensemble for which no prerequisites apply and where strength and flexibility training is the main focus.

The Cronulla High School Drama Company is well known and has performed at theatre festivals as far away as Hollywood. To take part in this Company, you need to pass an entrance audition and have really very good acting skills. But then the chance to take part in the annual overseas Performing Arts Tour beckons.
