Coolum State High School

Coolum State High School is a dynamic school, nestled on an idyllic school campus surrounded by a national park and in close proximity to the local beaches.

Thanks to its very strong results in science, sports and music, Coolum State High School is now one of the premium schools on the Sunshine Coast.

Coolum High has developed seven academy programs in collaboration with the students and the school community. The programs include instrumental music, basketball, surfing, cheerleading, touch football, an academy for young entrepreneurs and the Academic Learning Program for High Achievers (ALPHA). Each program offers students the opportunity to experience events, competitions and excursions.

Against the backdrop of the beautiful, unspoiled beaches of Coolum, is the award winning Surfing Academy Program. With graduates such as Isabella Nichols, the 2016 Junior World Champion, this renowned program offers students exceptional training opportunities with highly experienced and nationally accredited surfing coaches.

The Cheerleading Academy’s program is based on commitment, passion and teamwork and includes a series of energetic exercises and training sessions designed to develop the athletic skills of the participants, including strength and stability as well as dance and performance skills. These can be demonstrated in cheerleader excursions and state school competitions.
