Corinda State High School

Corinda State High School is located in a beautiful, green setting in the western suburbs of Brisbane, just 20 minutes by train from the city center. The extensive and spacious school campus and its own farm are special features of Corinda State High School.

Corinda State High School has a reputation as a school of excellence with elite science, math and arts programs. In doing so, the high school academic coaching program has led to significant improvements in the achievement levels of all high school students. All accredited excellence programmes are supported by strong, prestigious partnerships with key organizations.

For example, a strong partnership with the Queensland Tennis Centre supports the unique Elite Tennis Program, where nationally ranked players undertake an intensive coaching program in addition to their academic program.

A real highlight is the school’s own Smart Farm overlooking the Oxley River. The farm is home to farm animals, an apiary, a plant-based tissue lab, a sheep shearing facility and horticulture. Through this Smart Farm, students have the opportunity to learn about sustainable urban agricultural practices.

Students with previous dance experience can join one of the many dance groups. Styles range from classical to hip hop, hop hop and tap.

Each year, a group of Corinda State High School students travel to Heron Island Research Station for a week-long trip to study one the world’s most unique living organisms, the Great Barrier Reef.

Corinda State High School is an environmentally conscious school and has recently received certification as a climate-neutral institution.
