Greenwood College is located in the northern suburb of Greenwood, Perth, and is a modern, multicultural high school with a focus on academic excellence. The school combines high academic standards with strong pastoral care and places great emphasis on supporting its students individually.
There are a number of innovative and specialized programs in music, dance, aviation, and volleyball.
The Elite Music Program is characterized by its great stylistic diversity. From rock and contemporary music to folk and jazz to classical music, numerous genres are covered. Students can participate in various ensembles, including rock bands, concert bands, choirs, and a special ensemble for classical guitar. The focus is on composition, music history, performance practice, technique, and music theory.
For advanced participants, there are additional offerings such as madrigals, barbershop quartets, and selected instrumental ensembles. The Elite Dance Program at Greenwood College is aimed at students in grades 7 through 12 with dance experience and talent. It combines the joy of movement with high artistic standards.
Classes include contemporary dance, ballet, jazz, hip hop, acrobatics, cultural dance, lyrical, tap, and Bollywood. Participants have the opportunity to perform at various events throughout the year. There are also two cheerleading teams as extracurricular activities within the dance program: the Greenwood Knights and the Greenwood Titans.
The Volleyball Specialist Program comprises four lessons per week in grades 11 and 12 and is part of the PE Studies subject. It combines two theory units on topics such as body systems, mental skills, coaching, refereeing, and kinesiology with two practical units. The practical sessions focus on both indoor volleyball and beach volleyball.
The outdoor education programs are also very popular, with activities such as water safety, bush cooking, camping, and hiking.
Since mid-2024, Greenwood College has been undergoing extensive modernization. A new sports complex with three playing fields has already been completed. Further new buildings for STEM, performing arts, and theater are scheduled for completion by the end of 2025.
