The SCOTS PGC College

Private School

Scots PGC College is a private school located in Warwick, a small rural town about two hours drive west from Brisbane. The College is surrounded by cattle farms, a beautiful rainforest with good hiking facilities and waterfalls as well as the large Leslie Reservoir for swimming, fishing or other water sports.

Scots PGC College is divided into three age-based learning areas – a Junior School, a Middle School and a Senior School. The school draws on a long Scottish heritage, which is reflected in its school uniforms and its pipe band, a first class bagpipe band that has performed at many national and international celebrations and sports festivals.

The College combines a high academic standard iwith a familiar and very personal atmosphere. Scots is small enough so that everybody knows everybody, and more than a third of the 450 students are accommodated on the two boarding houses (separated into girls and boys). All of the boarding students, including a few internationals, have their own room with bed, desk and plenty of storage space. All rooms are air-conditioned and have WiFi in the room.

A real highlight at Scots PGC College is the equestrian programme, which attracts students from all over Australia and overseas. It is based on the three Olympic disciplines dressage, show jumping and eventing and is considered one of the best school riding programmes in Australia. Australian students usually bring their own horses, which they look after themselves and on which they have riding lessons. For international students, the school tries to provide horses in advance.

In keeping with the local environment, Scots PGC College also has a small Angus cattle herd and a number of sheep. The College’s Cattle and Sheep Clubs participate in the Royal Queensland Show, the Farm Festival, the Royal Toowoomba Show and other local events.

The school is also a corporate member of an excellent 18-hole golf course where students can play.

A very good impression of Scots PGC College with all its outbuildings and facilities can be gained from the “Virtual Tour“ on the school’s website.
