Mackay Christian College is a multi-denominational Christian day school in the tropical north of Queensland. The College is spread over two campuses, the King’s Park and Providence campuses, which are less than a kilometre apart. While the Providence Campus houses the Junior School (Pre-Prep – Year 6), the 390 students of the Middle & Senior School (Year 7-12) are located on the King’s Park Campus. King’s Park’s specialized facilities and beautifully landscaped grounds help create a learning environment that fosters the personal, social and academic development of students. This is supported by modern, colourful and architecturally designed buildings with spacious classrooms.
Mackay Christian College focuses on academic, business, craft, creative and sports courses and subjects. The Mackay Christian College Trade Training Centre (MCCTTC) offers a unique, co-educational programme for students in Years 11 and 12 who wish to apply their practical skills or who wish to pursue a craft-oriented career.
The Mackay Christian College Agricultural Centre of Excellence offers an advanced agricultural science curriculum for students who wish to continue their education at agricultural colleges and universities or seek employment in the agricultural sector.
In the sporting field, Mackay Christian College is recognised as a Mountain Bike Australia School of Excellence, where mountain biking is not only embedded in the curriculum, but students also have the opportunity to compete in local, state and national competitions.
The school has a camp program that has been developed over many years. Each individual camp has a purpose that aims at the age-appropriate development of the student.
