Yeppoon is a beautiful small coastal town with about 15,000 inhabitants and a picturesque marina. Yeppoon is known for pristine beaches, tropical climate and many bays. Upstream is the Capricorn Coast with numerous islands which are definitely worth a trip. Great Keppel Island can be reached in 30 minutes by boat.

The climate in Yeppoon is subtropical and comfortable in all seasons. The people in and around Yeppoon make their living from sugar cane, sheep and herds of cattle and fruit growing. There are many delicious tropical fruits such as mangoes and pineapples. Even gold is mined near Yeppoon.

Who wants to go to school in Yeppoon must continue to fly from Brisbane to Rockhamptom, the nearest large town with a well-known university. From there it is a about 30 minutes drive to Yeppoon.
