Sunshine Beach State High School

Sunshine Beach State High School is located in a biosphere reserve very close to Noosa with its legendary Main Beach and outstanding surfing facilities. No wonder this modern and progressive school focuses on marine science and research projects to protect the Great Barrier Reef, while also running a Surf Excellence Program that has produced a number of national champions. They also run “Beginners surfing lessons – learn from a champion” for those with little or no experience.

The Sunshine Beach State High School also scores high points for its extensive facilities and equipment. The marine studies class have their own boats and aquaculture facilities, there is a Performing Arts Centre for theatre, dance and music performances and a darkroom for photography lessons. The school is just around the corner from the Noosa Aquatic Centre with it’s 50 and 25 meter swimming pools.

Sunshine Beach is an exciting part of the Queensland coast. International students with a diving licence have the opportunity to scuba dive, the hospitality area offers regular bar courses, there are leadership camps where you can learn about teamwork and leadership, as well as courses for cheerleaders.

Sunshine Beach SHS has a strong focus on Italian. There are courses at all levels and a student exchange programs with schools in Italy.
