Rochedale State High School

Rochedale State High School is located on the southern edge of Brisbane, 20 minutes by public transport to downtown Brisbane and 45 minutes to the Gold Coast. The suburb of Rochedale itself is unique in that it is close to the city centre, but has comparatively few inhabitants, but plenty of farms, nurseries and agriculture. The school campus is located on a large plot of land with trees, wildlife and the school’s own farm.

The main subjects at Rochedale State High School are mathematics and science, as well as art and sports. There are also very good excellence programs in these areas.

The STEM program challenges and inspires those students who want to become particularly involved in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). They can work with universities, compete with other STEM schools in the Brisbane South district and make specific contacts with local government and industry partners.

The Arts Performance Excellence Program (APEX) includes art exhibitions, cultural presentations, musicals, concerts and a variety of “real life” performances. APEX students at Rochedale State High School consistently receive great recognition for their artistic achievements at the local, state and national levels.

The Rochedale Academy of Sports has development programs in volleyball and touch football, allowing students to participate in state, national and international competitions. In addition, Rochedale State High School is also part of the South District, where it is involved in a variety of sports in inter-school competitions.

Every year, a ski tour to the Snowy Mountains is also held.
