Devonport High School

Devonport High School is situated in the centre of the coastal town of Devonport, in North West Tasmania. Nearby there are a swimming pool, a basketball stadium, surfing, yachting, and rock climbing facilities. The school buildings have an older feel to them with a certain charm. From autumn 2020, extensive renovations and redesign work worth over 10 million dollars will begin. When these are completed in 2021, the school will have new and state-of-the-art learning facilities.

Devonport High School focuses on the STEM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths) and multimedia. The number of international students are still quite low. There are not more than around three per year, and they are welcomed with open arms by their Australian classmates and teachers. There are special excursions for international students, including to wildlife parks, local industry and national park visits.
